Theta Boule Scholarship Fund

Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, Theta Boule Chapter is pleased to announce that applications are now available for the 2026 Theta Boule Scholars Program Scholarship. The Boule Scholars Program aims to raise the level of educational expectations and performance of African American students by cultivating and celebrating their academic excellence. The poor academic performance of African American children, particularly African American male children, in the United States is a national crisis. Fewer than half graduate from high school, and those who don’t, become far too familiar with the criminal justice system. As a result, Theta Boule, through the Boule Scholars Program Scholarship, seeks to create a resource to stem the systemic degradation of Black male student’s academic achievement by offering a Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500) renewable scholarship, which can be obtained up to a maximum of four years for a total of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000).

In addition to the Theta Boule Scholars Program Scholarship, the awardee will be eligible to compete for the national Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity Grand Boule Scholars Program Scholarship in an amount to be determined. The recipient could receive both the Theta Boule and National Grand Boule Scholars Program Scholarships.
The Theta Boule Scholars Program Scholarship is open to all male students from the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area in their senior year of high school who plan to enroll in a four-year, accredited college or university. In alignment with our organization’s mission to promote educational equity and support historically underrepresented communities, we strongly encourage applications from African American male students. While this scholarship prioritizes support for African American males, all eligible students are welcome to apply and will be considered. Scholarship proceeds may be paid directly to the college or university in which the recipient is enrolled or paid directly to the recipient (at the discretion of the organization) upon verification of enrollment in such college or university. Students making application for the Theta Boule Scholars Program Scholarship must show outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and a commitment to community service as follows:

(i) Academic Achievement: Student must demonstrate a minimum of a 3.2 (or equivalent) unweighted cumulative grade point average, have a minimum ACT score of 23 or SAT score of 1150, and procure an academic recommendation from their school counselor.
(ii) School Leadership: Student must demonstrate leadership positions held within their school.
(iii) Community leadership: Student must demonstrate leadership positions held in church, civic, or community activities.
(iv) Overall Development: Student must demonstrate achievement in Arts, Music, Sports or Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM). Theta Boule believes that achievement comes in many forms, and in order to ascertain each student’s ability to be a well-rounded scholar, Theta Boule seeks applicants who describe their achievement(s), if any, in the arts, music, sports or STEM-related activities.
